Welcome to another edition of Technique Tuesday. Today technique is a quick and easy thrifty reminder in making use of your die cuts by creating an Aperture design with them.
An Aperture is basically a whole, gap or opening. So in the crafting it’s great use doe the leftover piece from cutting a die shape out of your paper. I have left my aperture blank in my designs as I wanted the pop of white against the busy DSP pattern but you can stamp images, add blended colour, have a peek a boo figure popped up depending on the size of your aperture!
I’m playing along with a couple challenges. The fresh spring greenery colour palette from Colourful Options. Another round of Tic Tac Toe challenge #tttc228 for my one card with splatters of white, Natures Symphony die elements and brass embellishments because well bling is a must.
I’m getting inky with Natures Symphony suite with the dies, DSP and Brass embellishments. I have used Notes of Spring POM for March on my one card design with the adorable deer along with the Triple Banner punch for the sentiment and unbranded gold twine. I have added a Greetings for All ephemera Missing You sentiment & Stone & Vine embossing folder, and a white acrylic pen for the splatter and faux stitches on my other design. Finally the Spotlight on Nature circle die for the one cards sentiment.
The thrifty element I love in this technique is both in making use of your leftover scrap but all also saving time with two cards and only one cut. Makes for two quick and easy card designs. Love the spring vibes from the green palette.
I just love the Notes of Spring animals - the adorable deer is perfect for my deer loving other half’s upcoming birthday!
I had so much fun I ended up making two more cards 😜 Two different design vibes from the same die cut.
Happy Stampin’
