Technique Tuesday - Inky Dry Embossing

Welcome to another edition of Technique Tuesday - today I am playing with an ole favourite - Inky Dry Embossing to make embossing folder details POP!

Today’s card design was inspired by playing with a few challenges:

Stamp2Cre8 Inky Fingers team challenge -
we were given some Stitched Stocking DSP, coordinated coloured and white cardstock, the white circle die cut , piece of red stitched ribbon and a white button as embellishments and challenged to create a card by adding a card base, stamped images or dies and a sentiment.

INKspirational - Christmas in July challenge #372

Tic Tac Toe challenges #tttc297 bottom row for the win - any die shape, layers and embossing.

Just Add Ink challenge #JAI790 to use dies or stencils I used dies.

The Card Concept colour palette revisit this time I chose Real Red, Peaceful Pine, Gold Metallic and white.

I am getting inky the Stitched Stocking DSP, Stylish Shape dies, Stitched Red ribbon, a White Button embellishment, Festive Cheer stamps & dies, Swirls of Magic embossing folder, Real Red, Peaceful Pine, Gold Metallic inks, unbranded gold twine.

I love the adding ink to embossing folder effect. I have added real red ink to the debossed (flat) side of the folder and embossed with white cardstock - the red really makes the white raised embossing pop. Another fun Christmas card ready for December mail out

Friday Scenic Coast Fun

Welcome to another edition of fun on Friday here on the blog. The spring weather fluctuations have been really hard on my body with the inflammation that weather changes seem to cause so I haven’t been in the craft room for way too long! Sometimes I push through pain because the joy I can from crafting can be a wonderful pain management tool however sometimes when the inflammation impedes my range of motion I just have to pause and listen to my body!

Today’s product choice of the Scenic Coast Suite was inspired by the Card Concept #ttc227 mood board with the nautical vibes. Perfect excuse to play with this suite!

Getting inky with the Scenic Coast Suite and casing the artisan team design inspiration from Stampin’ Up!

I just love this suite - almost makes you feel like you’re on the ocean!

Throwback Thursday

Welcome to another edition of Throwback Thursday a chance for me to challenge myself to pull an ole favourite from my stash and play with it and some of my new goodies.

Today’s card design was inspired by playing along to several challenges. My colour palette was inspired by The Card Concept Colour palette and mood board #CC225 which inspired me to bring out my Flowering Rain Boots stamp and die set and Lost Lagoon, Darling Duckling, Calypso Coral and Bubble Bath. The Paper Players #PP777  has a clean and simple challenge using Florals I have chosen Tulips in my Boots. Addicted to CAS has a garden theme and what’s more gardening than rubber boots filled with flowers! Sweet Stampin’ challenge to use Plaid/Tartan in my design and the Forever Plaid embossing folder is perfect to add some texture. And finally I was inspired by Festive Friday Easter Inspo list #FF0205 to use Pastel colours, Buttons, Ribbon, Rabbits and an Easter Greeting in my design.

I’m also getting inky with new product Notes of Spring March’s Product of the Month stamp set and the Greetings for You ephemera sentiment set and Bubble Bath ribbon.

Love how it came together - lots of texture and colours of spring make for a happy card  - in my mind when I was envisioning my design the boots were much smaller so the reality wasn’t as much clean white space left for the clean and simple design elements but I did try so give myself an A for effort … the clean and simple design is definitely a more challenging one to master but I will keep trying!
