Whimsical Wings & Things Wednesday

Welcome to another edition of Whimsical Wings & Things. 

Today’s card design was inspired by playing along to a couple challenges. Sketch layout and stamp choice came from over at Sunday Stamp Challenges - the hexagon sketch made me think of bees. 🐝 #ssc383

Bees are perfect for the yellow colour palette mood board from over at Colourful Options. 

Another round of Tic Tac Toe because well it’s a fun game! I played the left hand column with Spring bees, Black Gold twine and a hexagon embossing folder! #tttc289

I’m getting inky some ole favourites and current goodies. Bee My Valentine stamp, Bee builder punch, Greetings for All ephemera pack, Hexagon embossing folder and vellum. Daffodil Blends marker. 

Turned out so cute! I colored some of the embossed hexagon imprints to mimic the sketch inspiration, used a punched out bee 🐝 instead of the circle and added some twine behind the popped up bee for some added texture and the congratulations sentiment is from the Greetings for All ephemera pack. 

To adhere my vellum I sponged glue over the entire back so that the glue won’t show once it’s dried - I just didn’t wait long enough for it to dry before taking the photo so there is some still wet areas showing.

Sketchy Saturday

Welcome to another edition of Sketchy Saturday. Today I am sharing a 12x12 traditional double layout inspired by playing along with a couple challenges. 

Left hand sketch inspiration is from Sketches in Thyme challenge #703 from Rochelle Spears. 

Right hand sketch is inspiration from Stick It Down Scrapbook & Cardmaking April Sketch.  

Getting inky with the sneak peek of the Scenic Coast suite coming May and Splashes of Sparkle DSP, Strawberry Slush, Crushed Curry and Timid Tiger inks and paired them with some old favourites in the Unforgettable Times Mix and Match ephemera pack, On Film and Colourful Seasons dies, umbrella builder and scallop tag punch, sunset and brick stencils, silver twine and silver metallic marker.

Love the end result that came together for a fun coordinated double layout from a day at the beach. 

Left hand page showcases several the gorgeous dies and paper in the Scenic Coast suite and the wee camera and Polaroid frame from the On Film dies. Unforgettable title is from the Ephemera pack sponged with a bit of Timid Tiger to blend with the paper.

Right hand page carries over some of the Scenic Coast suite with the seagulls and the Colourful Seasons beach chairs, table and drinks, umbrella builder for the umbrellas and Time Together title is from the ephemera pack sponged with Timid Tiger.

Scrappy Saturday fun

Welcome to another edition of Scrappy Saturday. Working a traditional 12x12 layout today. 

Today’s 12x12 layout was inspired by Sketches in Thyme March 8th sketch layout. I have rotated the orientation of the sketch as worked better with my left hand design I was trying to coordinate with. 

I’m getting inky with some old and new favourites. From my retired stash the Beautiful Bunch stamp set and coordinated punches, the Large Letter dies. I have paired with the current Lovely Blossoms DSP and In Color Secret Sea and the Petal Pink from Subtle collection and some Pearl gem coloured with Secret Sea blends marker.

Today’s “Spring” layout is a right side design to go with last week’s “Hello” layout. Has a mat for a large 8x10 photo of the granddaughter exploring the garden or can do a collage of smaller photos. I still haven’t decided. 

Double page design coordinates pretty well I think!

Masculine Monday Vibes

Welcome to another edition of Masculine Monday Vibes making a birthday card design for a male recipient.

 

I’m playing along with a few challenges. The Global Design Project color palette #GDP637 Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo and Secret Sea, The CAS on Friday Sketch #CASF329, the Inspired.Create challenge All About the Man #IC221 and Just Add Ink use stencils or dies or both #JAI780.

I’m getting inky with the Cutest Crew bundle, Spotlight on Nature dies, Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder and pearl gems coloured with Secret Sea.

Adorable final design with all the little puppies playing in a circle!

Scrappy Saturday

Welcome to another edition of Scrappy Saturday! Today I am sharing a 12x12 layout.

My design was inspired by playing along with the Sketches in Thyme challenge sketch #699.

I’m playing with the Lovely Blossoms DSP which features the colour palette of Colours: Cloud Cover, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Petal Pink, Secret Sea and a retired Large Letters Dies. Some unbranded gold twine and pearls coloured with my alcohol markers to match the Secret Sea.

I LOVE this paper pack. The designs are gorgeous and so all the heavy lifting! I fussy cut some of the flowers out of the paper to create my three clusters. Added a HELLO sentiment and added some twine behind the one cluster and some pearl dots scattered.

Monday Sneak Peek 👀

Welcome to another Monday on the blog - today I am sharing a sneak peek at upcoming March online exclusives.

Colour palette for my card was inspired by over at Color Dare challenge #CD692 to use at least two colours from the palette. I have all 3 in my palette Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight and Lost Lagoon.

My sketch layout is from Just Add Ink challenge #JAI779

I am getting inky with the sneak peek of Capturing Smiles bundle coming March 2026 and have paired it with the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set, Days Like This Memories and More cards and from my stash some unbranded silver twine, rhinestones and Wink of Stella.

The full Colour Palette in the Days Like This card pack is so pretty with Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Garden Green, Pool Party, Secret Sea, Timid Tiger. The butterfly imagery is just so pretty - just perfect for both cards an memory keeping layouts! 

I just in love with this upcoming Capturing Smiles bundle! Perfect for using with your scrapbook projects but also for cards for those who love to take photos 🫶🏼

Masculine Monday Vibes

Welcome to another edition of masculine Monday vibes. Today’s All Geared Up to Celebrate card design was inspired by playing along with a couple challenges.

The Global Design Project #GDP534 is a fun sketch just calling out to use the Everyday Arch dies. 

The Card Concept Inspiration board & colour palette #224 I am playing with Garden Green, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive and Very Vanilla. 

I’m getting inky with the Natures Walk 12x12 DSP, Everyday Arches dies, Triple Banner punch, retired Geared Up Garage stamp set and dies, Holographic gems, Garden Green and gold metallic ink.

Love the Natures Walk DSP it’s a gorgeous palette for masculine vibe cards! Colours in the paper designs are shades of: Balmy Blue, Blueberry Bushel, Cloud Cover, Crumb Cake, Garden Green, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, Old Olive, Pecan Pie, Pretty Peacock, Secret Sea

Love how the final design came together. I had an extra fun fold card base to use up from last week’s Fun Fold Friday. I have cut the gears in gold foil as well as Garden Green and then used the direct to paper ink in the gold metallic ink to give it a patina vibe. I created a custom DSP to mount the gears by using the oil spill stamp in repeated stamping off in green garden to give various shades. I then added in some gold splotches as well. I stamped the sentiment in metallic Gold ink and used the banner punch. 

 

The fun fold is a unique one and love that it still stands for displaying on the mantle, desk or shelf.

Happy Valentine’s Day! Welcome to another edition of Scrappy Saturday. Today’s double layout was inspired by playing along to two sketch challenges.

 

Sketches in Thyme for my left side layout this lovely one feature photo and the cool banner of tags. 

Sketch N Scrap February 1st sketch for my right side for the adorable 2 photo sketch with heart inspirations.

I’m getting inky with the Love Notes 6x6 Mix and Match DSP, ink colours Azure Afternoon, Highland Heather, Garden Green, Flirty Flamingo, Triple Banner punch, Strawberry Slush & Pretty in Pink gems and from my retired stash a label punch, Be Mine stitched dies and Beauty Abounds and Artisan Textures stamp sets, pink bakers twine and floral ribbon.

Love the traditional double layout. I had gotten so use to using my pocket pages for my second page I forgot how fun having the two large 12x12 canvas to work with. The colour palette in the Love Notes 6x6 DSP is just a gorgeous rainbow of bright spring colour & vibes!

Left side close up - love how clever placement of 6x6 papers and embellishments can work on a 12x12 layout design. I trimmed the mix n match square designs to create the banners. Stamped textures and splotches randomly to pull the colours together. Instead of the punched tags I made faux looking using the bakers twine and cutting the floral ribbon to adorn each tag in my banner.

Right side close up. To coordinate my two page layout design I carried on the banner to my right side vs the strip across in the sketch. Embellishments hide my seams in the purple 6x6 paper stretched to appear like a 9x9 square.

Fun Fold Friday

Welcome to another edition of Fun Fold Friday - today I am trying the triangle fold. A fun way to showcase both sides of your pretty DSP. 

My card design is inspired by a couple of challenges. The Global Design Project sketch #GDP534  

The Just Add Ink colour challenge #JAI778. I opted to stay in the orange and sandy end or the palette with metallic orangey Copper, Pecan pie, Crumb cake, Very Vanilla and Secret Sea for my outline stamp and sentiment. 

I’m getting inky with the Fragrant Layers stamp set, Everyday Arch dies, the Triple Banner punches, Nature Walk DSP, Pecan Pie and Old Olive blends, Streaked Dots, Wink of Stella and unbranded copper twine.

 

To create the fun fold you take a full sheet or 8.5” x 11” card stock and score it full width at 4.25” and full length at 5.5.

Once scored you want to cut out the top left corner. And then cut from the right side corner down to the score line at the angle to create your first triangle. Then you want to cut the bottom left corner at an angle up to the same 5.5 score line to create your second triangle. Fold the top triangle down and use bone folder to smooth out and than fold the bottom triangle up. 

Your DSP is 5.25” x 4” and you cut it from the left corner down to the right corner to create two triangles. Make sure you align your pattern in the paper to be oriented in the position you want it to be. You adhere to the two triangles so that they show one side and the other of your DSP. 

Your focal point mat can be any shape you like just sized smaller than your folded base. I have chosen the Everyday Arch dies from the sketch challenge. 

Embellish card front as desired - I have used the Fragrant Flowers on Very Vanilla and than applied Wink of Stella for some sparkle. I fussy cut the flowers and popped up on dimensionals with the copper twine tucked in behind, mounted on torn arch mats  and then added some streaked dots to finish it off.
