Slimline Sunday

Welcome to another edition of Slimline Sunday.

Today’s design is inspired by playing along over at the Global Design Project #GDP535 to create something with the Baby theme.

I’m getting inky with some sneak peek items from the March Online exclusive with the Cutest Crew bundle paired with the February product of the month Patterned Illusions 12x12 DSP, the Swirly embossing folder, Greetings for All ephemera pack and retired Large Alphabet letters, ribbon and rhinestones.

You can get this Patterned Illusions 12X12 DSP for $5 when you place a $100 CAN order this month. Colours: Darling Duckling, Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, Lost Lagoon, Misty Moonlight, Petal Pink, Pretty Peacock

How adorable is this final “Welcome Baby” card? I love the Eclipse technique and the little doggies from the Curest Crew are so adorable. I have cut the long strip into individual dogs. The So Swirly Embossing folder is the perfect accompaniment to the Patterned Illusions DSP they coordinate perfectly 💕

Fun Fold Friday

Welcome to another edition of Fun Fold Friday - today I am trying the triangle fold. A fun way to showcase both sides of your pretty DSP.

My card design is inspired by a couple of challenges. The Global Design Project sketch #GDP534
The Just Add Ink colour challenge #JAI778. I opted to stay in the orange and sandy end or the palette with metallic orangey Copper, Pecan pie, Crumb cake, Very Vanilla and Secret Sea for my outline stamp and sentiment.

I’m getting inky with the Fragrant Layers stamp set, Everyday Arch dies, the Triple Banner punches, Nature Walk DSP, Pecan Pie and Old Olive blends, Streaked Dots, Wink of Stella and unbranded copper twine.

To create the fun fold you take a full sheet or 8.5” x 11” card stock and score it full width at 4.25” and full length at 5.5.

Once scored you want to cut out the top left corner. And then cut from the right side corner down to the score line at the angle to create your first triangle. Then you want to cut the bottom left corner at an angle up to the same 5.5 score line to create your second triangle. Fold the top triangle down and use bone folder to smooth out and than fold the bottom triangle up.

Your DSP is 5.25” x 4” and you cut it from the left corner down to the right corner to create two triangles. Make sure you align your pattern in the paper to be oriented in the position you want it to be. You adhere to the two triangles so that they show one side and the other of your DSP.

Your focal point mat can be any shape you like just sized smaller than your folded base. I have chosen the Everyday Arch dies from the sketch challenge.

Embellish card front as desired - I have used the Fragrant Flowers on Very Vanilla and than applied Wink of Stella for some sparkle. I fussy cut the flowers and popped up on dimensionals with the copper twine tucked in behind, mounted on torn arch mats  and then added some streaked dots to finish it off.

Quick Process video of the card coming together:

Love the warm vibes of this colour palette made a lovely Hello Card to let someone know you’re thinking of them 💕 Folds flat for mailing:

Stands up for display on the receivers mantle or desk!

Finding My Mojo Monday

Happy to be back in the craft room after a holiday hiatus and working on getting my mojo back with a challenge from the Global Design project while playing with some of my new goodies from January mini preorder.

Inspiration on my layout is from Global Design Project Case the Designer #GDP528. I have used inspiration from the strip, the florals and the colour palette of the pink with the pops of black and white.

Getting inky with the coming in January new releases the Fragrant Layers bundle and Hearts of Love 3D embossing folder plus from the annual catty Stampin’ Blends in Melon Mambo, Bubble Bath and Old Olive,  the Greetings for All ephemera, Black and Gold bakers twine and Rhinestones. Also used an unbranded braided hearts border die Santa left in my stocking.

Such a pretty stamp and die set! I focused on the dies with this layout to showcase for those who are stamping adverse that you can make Gorgoeus projects with just the dies, embossing folders and ephemera.

Slimline Sunday

Welcome to another edition of Slimline Sunday.

Today’s layout was inspired by the sketch challenge over at the Global Design Project #GDP518. I have flipped the orientation to landscape and stretched to a slimline length.

My colour palette choice of Granny Apple Green and Highland Heather is thanks for The Paper Players colour challenge #PP759.

I chose to play with the Coneflower Celebration stamp set thanks to The Flower Challenge this month #FC107 to use flowers plus the colour purple.
I have added in the Soft Waves embossing folder for some texture, a piece of Bokeh Watercolor DSP for contrast, the Frost Iridescent Dots and some Wink A Stella for that extra bling bling shimmer!

The final design was just delightful little birthday card to celebrate a friend!

World Cardmaking Day Bonus 2

Having fun playing along with challenges for World Z cardmaking day!

Shout out to Global Design Project for the case the designers Berdien challenge  #GDP516 such a pretty card - I was inspired by the grid layout with the centre sentiment for the focal point.

I’m playing with the Peaceful Garden bundle as this design was perfect for showing off all the pretty DSP in this suites coordinated paper! I made a card for celebrating someone who’s starting a new adventure!

Hope you’re having fun in the craftroom today!

Throwback Thursday - Rooted In Nature

Celebrating Throwback Thursday is my chance to play with some of my old favourites and showcase them in new ways. Pretty stamps aren’t made to just be collected they are meant to get inky! It’s also a fun way to revisit older product while playing with new goodies!

Playing along with a few challenges to help get the mojo flowing.

Shout out to The Global Design Project for the sketch inspiration #GDP514. Love the arches they are perfect for the Everyday Arches.
Over at Sunday Stamps challenges for the colour palette inspiration #SSC369 - I chose Secret Sea, Misty Moonlight, Cloud Cover, Pecan Pie and Crumb cake.

Inkspirational has the Word prompt of Trees. So perfect excuse to play with my retired Rooted In Nature stamps and dies.

And finally Tic Tac Toe challenge #tttc279 where I almost got a full card covered with the rectangle shape of my A2 card, Die cuts for my trees and the stripes in the mini corrugated embossing of my Secret Sea layer. Plus a second line with 3 or more colours and metallic gold in my twine.  4th line with stamped image and using an embossing folder.

All these elements came together to create a lovely Birthday card for a nature lover! I’ve used a sentiment from my retired Sending You Thoughts stamp set for my birthday greeting.

I wanted to use Rhinestones as my embellishments so used the alcohol ink trick to make some Secret Sea rhinestones by colouring them with my Secret Sea Blends marker. I love a good frugal find tip and this one is a great way to have coordinating embellishments at your fingertips without having to buy a bazillion different embellishment packs. Rhinestones and Pearls are definitely my go to for embellishments these days.

What’s your favourite frugal crafting tip?
