Iris Fun Fold Friday

Welcome to another edition of Fun Fold Friday - today I am sharing an Iris Aperture Fold card. A fun little illusion with paper.

My design was influenced by playing along with the following challenges:

Just Us Girls Challenge #JUG809 using the Be Mine Stitched heart dies.

Over at Time Out Challenges inspired Challenge #TOC306 are:

Sparkle, Red, Heart, Pink, Aperture

Sweet Stampin for their “all you need is love” theme:

The Paper Players Love is in the Air challenge #PP781

I’m getting inky with the Words of Beauty stamp set, Hearts of Love embossing folder, Triple banner punch, Strawberry Slush and Pretty in Pink gems, Made with Love DSP and the retired Be Mine stitched dies.

Iris Fold template - there are lots of templates on the internet using different shapes and patterns if you search Iris Fold Templates. I chose the heart since it’s Valentines coming up and I wanted to use up some of my Made with Love DSP and this pattern showcases 8 different patterned paper. You can also just make up your own pattern the overall tip is that you layer the paper so that it creates the Iris aperture look.

Quick Process video to show it coming together.

Love how the final design came together - this fold is another great way to use up those leftover strips of pretty paper!

  1. What a fabulous fun fold. I love the mix of DSPs that you used and the black base makes the colors pop. So glad you shared this with us at the Paper Players this week

  2. That scrappy iris heart makes a great focal point for the sentiment. I like the contrast of the dark background with the apricot shades of the DSP. Thanks so much for joining in with us at The Paper Players this week.
