Welcome to another edition of Clean & Simple Saturday - working on honing the less is more design philosophy. 

My final design was inspired by playing along to a few challenges:

Krafty Chicks Challenge - share a CAS card 

Getting inky with Winter Adventures Dies, Soiree Salutations stamps, Snowflake Adhesive backed gems, Triple Banner punch & Peaceful Pine, Highland Heather and Bubble Bath inks with blending brushes. White Gel pel.

 

Final design came together so beautifully - the soft blended strip of Highland Heather & Bubble Bath blending into a wee bit of white for snowy ground, two trees die cut and blended with Peaceful Pine. Scatter of clear snowflakes around the trees and an ombré sentiment with one word in each colour of my palette. Couple score lines either side of blending to frame my night sky. 

   

Nothing like a a snowy night forest scene for spreading some peace. hope. joy. this season!

I’m getting inky with Winter Adventures Dies, Soirée Salutation stamp set, retired Winter Snow embossing folder, Adhesive Backed Snowflakes and Basic Gray Ink.

Love the look of a crisp white on white design! I cut the Winter Adventure die so just the cluster of trees and popped them up on my Snowflake embossed strips and added a couple close embellishments. I chose the Holiday Wishes sentiment as it makes this Christmas card more versatile for friends on my Xmas Card list who might celebrate a different holiday in December.

Minimalistic Monday

Welcome to another edition of Minimalistic Monday here on the blog - trying to home the less is more philosophy behind clean & simple designs.

My final card design was inspired by playing along to several challenges to get the MOJO flowing:

Addicted to CAS code word Anniversary - using a Happy Anniversary sentiment from Scenic Coast stamp set.

I’m getting inky with Artisan Sketched Garden DSP, Vellum, Sunset Coast stamp set and from my stash nesting circle dies and sprig punch, metallic gems, Misty Moonlight & Berry Blast blends and Pecan Pie ink with a blending brush.   

It has been a long time since I have tried a round card design - I fussy cut out the floral vase and coloured with Misty Moonlight & Berry Blast blends. I blended some Pecan Pie around the edge and behind the vase for some vintage vibes. Added some sprigs of vellum and a few gold metallic gems.

Slimline Sunday

Welcome to another edition of Slimline Sunday.

Today’s card design was inspired by playing along to a couple of challenges.

Double Trouble #211 with their 3, 2, 1 challenge of use at least 3 layers not including the card base so I have a mat of blue, green and white, 2 colours I have yellow, blue and green with a splash of pink for the piggy  and 1 image with my little piggy to go with the Twisted Sister 3 additional challenge to use pigs in the design. Twisted Sister 2 and the additional challenge is to use the Try a Sketch on Tuesday. #TSOT690

My colour palette is thanks to the CAS colours & sketch challenge - #580 I tweaked the shades and used Lemon Lolly, Secret Sea and Old Olive. 

Another round with the Festive Friday St. Patrick’s Day #FF0204 with some green, yellow, green gems and gold twine.

I’m playing with a the Lovely Blossoms DSP, Greetings for All ephemera pack, Modern Oval punch, Secret Sea, Old Olive and Lemon Lolly blends and retired This Little Piggy stamp set, BOHO Chic embossing folder, unbranded gold twine and pearl gems coloured with Old Olive blends. 

Came together as an adorable congratulations card for someone was told they couldn’t do something until pigs could fly 🤣

Love the paper - so fun to colour!

Technique Tuesday

Welcome to another edition of Technique Tuesday - today I am playing with the Ink Puddle technique. An artisan from Stampin’ Up! shared an example recently and I had to give it a try.

My card design is also inspired by playing along with a couple challenges. My colour palette is thanks to AAA Colourful Themed challenges and mood board #25. I have chosen Daffodil Delight, Gorgeous Grape, Coastal Cabana and Pretty Peacock with some Gold from the hues in the colour board.

My layout was inspired by CAS Colours & Sketches sketch challenge #579 - still working in the whole clean and simple end of things but I did keep to the 2 focal images and a sentiment but my big butterfly took up a lot of white space on me. 😜

Sweet Stampin’ has a prompt to not use patterned paper or DSP in your design which worked well as my butterflies didn’t need any competition from patterned paper. 

Today I am getting inky with the Beautiful Butterflies bundle and embossing folder, Daffodil Delight, Gorgeous Grape and Lost Lagoon reinkers to do my puddle and Pretty Peacock ink for stamping my sentiment. Some Wink of Stella, Rhinestone’s and unbranded Gold twine.

Step by Step tutorial as shared by Artisan Pamela that inspired me to give it a try:

I followed along but I chose 3 ink colours for my puddle and for my stamp I have used the back of the large butterfly for a solid image. I didn’t stamp over my watercolour image and instead used the die cut for the butterfly outlines on my wings.

Final design ended up with two pretty butterfly inspired Happy Birthday cards.

Slimline Sunday

Welcome to another edition of Slimline Sunday. Today’s Happy Birthday card design was inspired by playing along with a couple challenges.

The CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #578 to use Pretty Peacock, Pool Party & Soft Sea foam.

The Stick It Down for this fun layout inspiration. I have stretched it to be a slimline version. 

I’m getting inky with Fragrant Layers stamp set, Fabulous Sayings stamp set, Pretty Peacock, Pool Party and Soft Sea Foam blends, Wink of Stella, Holographic gems, gold metallic ink, unbranded gold twine. 

The final design is a stunner if I do say so myself. Love the colour palette with the pops of Gold against the white space. 

Lots of texture and shine!
