Partial Embossing Technique

Welcome to another edition of Technique Tuesday.

Today I am showcasing the Partial Embossing technique - fun way to incorporate texture into your design while also having space to stamp or leave clean and simple.

There are a few ways that people do this technique. I have chosen to make use of the chipboard that comes in paper packaging as it is a nice thickness. If you don’t have chipboard you can also cut multiple images and stack and glue them on top of each other to create for partial stencil. I also like to keep the cut out as well as you can use either the border as I am showing today but you can also keep the cut out and do a partial embossed shape in your design.

I’m playing along with the Stampin’ Fancy Friday sketch challenge over on Instagram.

Getting inky with the Fragrant Layers bundle, All In A Row embossing folder and Bubble Bath faux linen ribbon from the upcoming January releases. From my stash the Greetings for All ephemera, Pink gems and Stampin’ Blends in Melon Mambo, Bubble Bath and Soft Sea Foam.

So pretty! I love the framed look created be using a rectangle and the All in a Row embossing folder for the partial embossing and then I did faux stitching around the rectangle with Bubble Bath marker to make it pop.

This time I have stamped the imagines from the Fragrant Layers and than coloured them with my blends and fussy cut them out to show that if you are on a budget that you do not always need the dies if you’re willing to fussy cut your focal images.

Happy Stampin’
