Welcome! Today I am playing with the Joyful Memories and More card pack to create a scrapbook layout!
I got my layout inspiration by playing along with the Scrap a Sketch challenge #179 over on Facebook. I thought the banners would be perfect to show off the awesome patterns in the Joyful Days card pack!
Over at Just Us Girls they have a challenge going on to use Dies with Challenge #791 - Anything Goes and I am using my retired Banner Dies and Large Alphabet dies from Stampin. Up!
And the Inspire.Create.Stamping Challenges has their Never to Early for Christmas challenge #200.
I also got out my retired Peaceful Pines stamp set and dies to create embellishments with. I love this set so did not want to part with it when it retired.
For my left side layout I have done the traditional 12x12 layout. I used the colour palette of Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive from out of the paper for my letters and photo frames. I have made the banners using the cards from the pack as well as some solid card stock. I also created the one plaid banner using the Forever Plaid embossing fold and dragging the Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive ink pads across the embossed areas to give a two tone colour to it. The banner on the left side of the page is perfect to add the date of the photos I add and any short blurb about them.
The trees from the Peaceful Pine stamp and die set are adorned with some retired Cherry Cobbler embellishments I have in my stash.
For the right side I have used a retired pocket page from Stampin' Up - sure hoping they bring them back! I choose to cut down 3 of the 4x6 cards to put in the 4x4 pockets and I will add photos to the 4x6 frames. Again a little room for more journal writing on the bottom 4x4 pocket image.
I am way behind in my scrapbooking as well as in getting photos printed so this layout will be used for Christmas past just need to choose which photos I want to use and get them printed.
Are you a print your photos first and create a page to go with them or are you like me falling behind so creating the layouts and will choose the photos later?
Happy Stampin'
