Welcome to another edition of Whimsical Wednesday where I use something from my stash with Whimsical vibes.
Today I am getting inky with an old favourite, so old from back when I didn’t even know to save the brand or stamp name cause someone might ask one day so sorry about that. If you recognize the image please drop me a comment so I can label him! Used my triple banner punch, blends for colouring and some iridescent gems.
My background paper is a leftover sample from yesterday Alcohol Ink background technique. I used Azure Afternoon, Mossy Meadow and Lemon Lime Twist. Resulted in an adorable little dragon get well card.
Colour palette from Sunday Stamps #SSC378 I am using Real Red, Strawberry Slush, Flirty Flamingo and Bubble Bath with pops of Gold fo my neutral colour.
Sketch N Scraps January 20th throwback sketch challenge #SNS237
I’m getting inky with current products Sweet Jar bundle, January Product of Month Fabulous Sayings, Hearts of Love 3D embossing folder, Hexagon punch and from my stash rhinestone’s and gold twine.
Materials needed
Rubbing alcohol and small cup
Aqua Painter or Paintbrush
Stylus
Air pump or straw
Alcohol Ink pens or refills
Vellum or Window sheets
A well ventilated area to work in
Quick process video:
Process is very easy all you need to do is add your alcohol ink colour, drop on rubbing alcohol with paintbrush or stylus and use blower pump or straw to move the rubbing alcohol over your ink to create unique shapes and lines. Repeat adding colour and alcohol until you have the coverage and design you are happy with!
I played with two techniques styles to compare end results
Carefully applied step by step colour and alcohol and blowing in small areas at a time
Haphazardly applied colour all over followed by spritzing alcohol all over and adding the air blowing quickly all over.
Both offer a cool end result.
Optional step - add in metallic gold, silver, copper or bronze streaks to give that marble or quartz vibes!
Final design is just a stunning backdrop for your focal images.
Welcome to another edition of Merry Monday. Today’s Sending Love card design was inspired by playing along to a couple fun challenges.
Over at Double Trouble challenges #208 playing with prompt to use 3 colours. I am using Pumpkin Pie, Balmy Blue and Real Red. 2 images with two fun punch art penguins, 1 sentiment. Twisted Sister challenge to include penguins and using the TSOT sketch.
I’m getting inky with the new Fabulous Phrases January Product of the Month along with some retired favourites from my stash Lovely as a Tree stamp set, Owl builder punch and Blossom Builder punch.
Are they not the cutest little penguins? I love the magic of punch art to help create outside the box images!
Stampin’ Up! Only colour challenge #SUOC393 to use Night of Navy, Crushed Curry and Whisper White.
Im getting inky with Sweet Jar stamp set and punch, Hearts of Love 3D embossing folder and retired Banner dies and Be Mine stitched dies, Rhinestones & Gold Twine.
Such a fun design and different vibes for a potential Valentine Card or any “sending love” themed occasion.
I’m getting inky with the Love Story DSP and stickers, Hearts of Love embossing folder and Strawberry Slush & Pretty Pink gems. I’ve paired with the retired Be Mine Stitched dies.
It’s been a while since I have done two traditional layouts vs a traditional paired with a pocket page but am loving it - still able to fit in lots of photos with the two 3.75x 5.75 photos on the left and than four 3x3 photos on the right.
