Tea Light Fun Fold

Welcome to another edition of Fun Fold Friday. Today I am sharing a cute tea light fold.

My colour palette was inspired by playing over at Sunday Stamps. #SSC375

I’m getting inky with Snowflake Kisses dies. Delicate Pines stamps and dies, Azure Afternoon, Pretty in Pink and Gorgeous Grape ink palette, Brutus Monroe Watercolor Galaxy paper, Rhinestones and a water spritzer.

The fold is an easy one that’s got a punch of WOW factor.

Once you’ve cut and scored your cardstock you want to cut a design in the centre of one piece for the light to shine through - I have used the Snowflake Kisses corner die but the possibilities are endless.

Then you can add your card insert to the front and back of the second base. For my inside card insert I have used Cloud Cover glimmer paper. On the back side insert I used Whisper White.

Adhere your vellum to the inside of the card front.

Next you want to glue the two card base pieces together by the outer score line section forming a rectangle.

Then complete your design as desired. I have used glimmer paper and Brutus Monroe Watercolor Galaxy paper strips for the outer edges and than created a focal snowflake with Delicate Pines stamps and dies. I used the water spritz on the stamped snowflakes to give a muted watercolour look. I also sponged ink around the edges of the snowflake layers to soften the look.

I added my sentiment to the back of the card design with some snowflakes.

So much fun - looks gorgeous in day light and when you turn on the tea light in the dark.

Daylight:

In the dark with tea light turned on:

I decorated the back of design as well so it looks stunning from front and back giving more options for display.

The flicker of the tea light turned on just makes it extra magical. And a little disclaimer - as this is made of paper you can only use a battery operated tea light not a real flame tea light. 🔥

Welcome to another edition of Whimsical Wings & Things. Today’s card design came together while playing with a few challenges.

My colour palette is thanks to TGIF Challenges colour challenge Real Red, Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green. #tgif554

Sketchy fun over at As You See It challenge #AYSI392
Just Add Ink word prompt Celebration #JAI775

Over at Festive Friday National Candy Cane Day #FF0199 word prompts I am incorporating Red, White, Green, Sequins and Christmas Sentiment

I’m getting inky with the Traditions of Christmas DSP and sequins, Greeting for You ephemera and retired Winter 3D embossing folder, Bird Builder punch, 2 1/2” circle punch and gold twine.

Final design is so cute - I used the Coastal Cabana maker to incorporate that colour into the plaid paper from the Traditions of Christmas DSP punched with the 2 1/2” circle and the gold twine circled around it formed a little “nest” for the Cardinal for this “Seasons Greetings.”

Faux Flocking Technique

Welcome to another edition of Technique Tuesday. Today I am going to be sharing an oldie but a goodie “Faux Flocking”.

I’m getting inky with some sneak peeks from the upcoming January-April 2026 mini catalog you can see the products in my unboxing video below. The Woolly Friends bundle is SO much fun … I’ve paired it with the Summer Splash 12x12 DSP from the January Online Exclusive.
DETAILS
- 12 sheets: 2 each of 6 double-sided designs
- 12" x 12" (30.5 x 30.5 cm)
- Acid and lignin free (this product is photo-safe)
- Includes gold and iridescent foil
- Colours: Azure Afternoon, Balmy Blue, Bubble Bath, Daffodil Delight, gold, Highland Heather, iridescent, Lemon Lolly, Pool Party, Pretty in Pink, Shy Shamrock, Timid Tiger

The sneak peeks of the Lovely Stripes Embossing folder - think this one’s going to be a hot one like the mini corrugated folder from the summer. The All In A Row Embossing folder is just too adorable. I love the stripes, dots and floral combo.

Also using the Everyday Arches dies, Triple Banner punch, Frosted Iridescent dots and Balmy Blue ink and marker.

Faux Flocking Tutorial

You will need:
  • Cheese Grater
  • Scrap paper in colour of choice. I am using basic black and whisper white
  • Container to hold your flocking
It’s really easy to make. You basically take your scrap paper and fold it up into a square and than using the medium side of grater you go to town and grate the paper until you have the desired amount of flocking for your project. Easy peasy lemon squeezie!

But how stinking cute are these little Ewes? I couldn’t resist giving them the wobbler head.

Baa Baa White sheep how pretty is your wool? See why I felt that this technique was just perfect for this stamp and bundle set? So many colours of wool!

The rest of my January-April 2026 sneak peeks can be seen here:

Lasting Memories Guest Design challenge

Welcome to another edition of Socially Scrappy on Sunday.

Today I am a guest designer over at Lasting Memories Layout Challenge blog

We are revisiting old favourites that we loved from past challenges or ones we missed getting to play with the first time around. There are so many to choose I have again chosen two challenges for my inspiration. Both are from 2024 and I combined them into one challenge #LM779. So I’ve taken inspiration from the circles in the original sketch and the two photo layout but have swapped in snowflakes for a winter vibe as well as the blue colour palette challenge which is perfect for when we have those winter blues. ❄️

I’m getting inky with current Stampin’ Up! product Elegant Pine Snowflake stamps and dies as well as retired Swirly Bird dies, silver metallic twine and a silver ink pen and some rhinestones for my design elements.

Traditional 12x12 layout a nice clean and simple design with lots of textures, splatter and sparkles!

It’s going to be perfect layout for some winter family fun photos for the grand daughters scrapbook memories.

Coordinated pocket page has room for lots of snowy fun photos with the Elegant Pine Snowflake stamps carried over.

If you choose to play along with my challenge please make sure to go to the Lasting Memories Layout challenges blog and use their linky for todays post.

Fun Fold Friday

Welcome to another edition of Fun Fold Friday!

Today’s fold is inspired by Katherina Tarta Crafts over on InstagramNot sure what this one’s called - kind of a Gatefold with Pop Out.

I played around with figuring out the measurements by watching the video a few times. This is what I came up with.
  • Card base is 9.5 inches x 5.5” than score in .5” and 2” from each side
  • 4 long DSP strips are 1.75” wide x 5.25” I used the pattern side inside and the other side for card front.
  • Inside strip is 10” x 2” score at 2 inch increments all way across.
  • 4 squares of 1.75” x 1.75” DSP and a Whisper White square.

Playing with the Traditions of Christmas DSP and coordinating Sequins, Greetings for You ephemera for my sentiment, Pretty in Pink ink with blending brushes and gold twine.

It came together so lovely - love the colour combo and the DSP is fun to fussy cut but if you’re not into fussy cutting there are coordinating dies for the paper and stamp sets. Folds flat for mailing in an envelope.

Ghosting Technique

Welcome to Try a Technique Thursday. Today I am playing with the ghosting technique along with being inspired by a few challenge prompts.

The Colour INKspiration has a “showcase your favourite colour” for their 200th challenge. While it’s hard ti pick just one for the purpose of the challenge I have chosen Secret Sea … it’s such a gorgeous deep navy and goes with everything!

Thanks to the Cupcake Challenge Let it Snow #CI632 - I am playing with the Elegant Pine Snowflake stamp set and dies for my focal images.

I am having another go at Tic Tac Toe challenge this time using the diagonal for the win - Navy, Free is Snowflake technique, and Holiday sentiment of “Warm Winter Wishes”

In addition to the Elegant Pine Snowflakes stamps and dies I playing with the new Triple Banner punch, a retired 3/8” circle punch for my glittery centre of my snowflake and of course some bling rhinestones.

The Ghosting Technique is a simple technique to do but it packs a good WOW in the effect. The shadow of the ghost image really makes the focal images pop.

First you want to stamp your focal image in  white ink or Versamark for a more subtle shadow to create the shadow layer. I have chosen Whisper White.

Clean the stamp well to ensure you don’t transfer white ink to your darker inker.

Next ink stamp with your dark inker choice and then carefully stamp slightly off from the white stamped image.

Photopolymer stamps are perfect for this technique but you can use wooden stamps with a stamp a ma jig or rubber stamp with a stamp positioning platform.

That’s it - you can repeat more ghosting if desired and complete your card design.

You can also create the ghosting effect with your dies as well - I have cut pine accents for my focal snowflake in white and Secret Sea and layered to create that shadow effect with the paper as well.

See how easy it comes together with this short process video:

I forgot how much I love Crumb Cake with Navy. A perfect holiday card for someone on my Christmas card mailing list!

What’s your favourite Stampin’ Up! Colour?
