Fun Fold Friday - Pop Up Gatefold card

Welcome to another edition of Fun Fold Friday. Today I am trying a Pop Up Gatefold I have adapted from over at Beccy’s Place blog.

I am playing with the Pine Tree Trimmings stamp and Everyday Arches dies along with Gold embossing powder for a pretty pop of sparkle.

So for my modified measurements I started with a 8.5” x 5.5” card base. I have taken photos of where to score as measurements that fall in between the 1/4 and 1/2 are not my strong suit.

Once you have your card based scored you can decorate. I measured to decide how wide the strips had to be and than used the Elegant Pine Snowflake DSP. Created the belly band with a 12” x 1” strip of coordinating DSP and just eyeballed where to fold for the card to slide in and out with ease. 

I used the Everyday Arches for my pop put and my belly band.

Here is the finished card with the belly band on. It is still a free standing card even with the belly band closure. 

When you slide the belly band off and open up the gate fold you get the pop out arch with sentiment.

This fold is still flat enough for a standard A2 envelope however with the added layers of the belly band the weight might require extra postage. 

It’s a fun fold. I especially love the belly band because it gives you even more design space!
