Fun Fold Friday - Gatefold

Welcome to another edition of fun fold Friday - today’s card features the Gatefold Card with a simple front flap.

Inspired to share this oldie but goodie by the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge whose front two panels that reminded me of a gate fold. #AHSC696

As You See It Challenge - hastened handicrafts speed challenge to make a crafting card in under 10 minutes - I chose to share this crafting fold is its awesome because it is both a quick, easy design but it’s stunning none the less! #AYSI379

This project got inky with the Made with Love DSP, Traditional Labels stamp, Stylish Shapes dies, Seasonal Cheer embossing folder and Red & White Peppermint embellishments

Measurements are on the image:

Fun but quick and easy Merry Christmas

I just love the little red & white peppermint embellishments. Gatefold card designs stands and fits in a standard A2 envelope.

Fun Fold Friday

Welcome to another edition of Fun Fold Friday. Today I am giving a Funky Diagonal Fun Fold from Rose Coleman a try.

Playing along to the Krafty Chicks Challenge - Christmas.

I’m getting inky with some sneak peek goodies coming in September: Winter Adventure Dies and Soirée Salutations paired with Country Woods DSP.

Quick process video - can you spot my boo-boo as I was too eager putting my panels on? I fixed it after by adding another white insert on the other side so hopefully the receiver won’t notice the difference 🤣  I also struggled a bit with the diagonal arm as the measurements Rose gave I ended up with a much wider arm covering most of front vs being an arm” vibe so I cut it to down be 2” wide top and bottom angle.

Final Design came together as a lovely Snowy Winter in the country  Holiday Wishes card for the upcoming season!

Standing look from different views - another fun fold that really shows off the DSP!

What do you think? Will you give this one a try?

Slimline Sunday

Welcome to another edition of Slimline Sunday!

I’m playing with the Christmas Tags & More DSP, Christmas greetings Mix & Match Specialty cards & envelopes, Greetings for You ephemera, Traditional Christmas sequins and the new online exclusive triple banner punch.

It turned out adorable - the plaid just gives me such warm holiday memory vibes! I’ve used one of the Mix & Match specialty cards & envelopes for my background layer. Added a gold foil banner using the triple banner punch. Made a collage using the circle punches to layer gold foil and white circles under the bell from the Christmas Tags & More DSP ephemera with some of the Holly leaves. I used my Cherry Cobbler blender pen to colour some of the white holly berries to have some more pops of red on my design. Added some gold twine and red sequins dots for added bling!

While I had the materials out took a little extra time to keep playing and made a couple extra cards as the ladies at work are eagerly wanting some Christmas cards donated to our the Everyday Dreams fundraiser so they can make another donation and get some Christmas cards as a thank you. Love knowing that the cards will do double duty of making not only the receivers of the cards happy but are helping to raise funds for help those we support have some of their everyday dreams come true.

I need a card for this afternoons Stamp2Cr8 team meeting and this old Gloval Design Project is the inspiration we were given to be inspired by:

Quick and easy no stamping required designs but that still pack a punch of WOW 🤩 love the 3D Forever Plaid embossing folder for holiday cards as it gives me Christmas plaid vibes!

Fussy cutting can be so therapeutic - focuses the mind on the task and helps quiet unwanted thoughts. I’ve made a bonus card today playing along with Tic Tac Toe challenge #tttc283 for left line win of ornament, red, Christmas sentiment.

I fussy cut this design and mounted on the 3D exposed brick embossing folder.

Today’s card features the retired Poinsettia Petals stamps and dies. I’ve paired it with the current Exposed Brick embossing folder and Greetings for You ephemera sentiments.

My layout was inspired by the Just add Ink

Such a stunning design done in the Petal Pink with gold embossing and gold twine and pearls. I will definitely be trying this design in other pretty poinsettia colours!

Technique Tuesday - Chalkboard fun

Welcome to another edition of Technique Tuesday - today I am exploring the fun of chalkboards both traditional white chalk and the neon glow chalk!

My colour palette is the Color Throwdown challenge #ctd844. I have chosen Pool Party, Pretty in Pink and Lemon Lolly to play along.

Materials wise I have chosen to play with the Elegant Pine Snowflakes stamp set, Christmas Word Collage embossing folder, Greetings for All ephemera,  black and gold twine and rhinestone gems. White ink for the chalkboard version and Versamark and white embossing powder and blends in my color palette for the neon chalkboard.

For the traditional Chalkboard it’s a very quick and easy technique - you simply stamp with white ink on the black background and you can add some white ink to a tissue and gently rub on the chalkboard to give the look of a board that’s been wiped of chalk and new chalk added.

For the Neon Chalkboard instead of the white ink you want to use Versamark to stamp your images and sprinkle with white embossing powder and heat set. Once heat set you than colour your “chalk” with bright colours to give that neon chalkboard look.

I love the Greetings for You ephemera set for the black and white sentiments as they are perfect with this technique as you can add colour to the white lettering to make a neon chalkboard sentiment.

An extra bonus card from the scrap I used when testing my white ink pad to ensure it was juicy and not in need of drinking. Waste not want not!

Throwback Thursday

Welcome to another edition of Throwback Thursday where I play with my old favourites from my stash.

Today’s card design was inspired by a few challenges.

The Color Dare had a fun colour palette I chose Gorgoeus Grape / Highland Heather and Granny Apple green.

INKspirational challenge #353 of seeing stars promoted me to pull out star themed goodies!

And the layout sketch over at Build Your Stash Holiday Cards #BYSHC63 - love that their sketches include estimated measurements as a helpful guide.

I’m playing with the retired So Many Stamps & Dies and a Recollection Celestial embossing folder and some gold twine. I’ve paired with the current Greetings For You ephemera and Traditional Sparkling Sequins.

Love how the final design came together. The purple and green is a fun combo and the stars are perfect for a Christmas card. I used the brayer to ink up the embossed stars so that the white stars pop and add fun texture. I inlaid the purple on purple stars using the Gorgeous Grape for the swirl layer and inlaid stars in Highland Heather. I’ve added Wink of Stella on the stars and finished off with gold sparkling sequins. The gold sentiment was brayered over with the Highland Heather to help tie in the colour palette.

I end up with an extra star cluster in the reversed purples so whipped up a second card with some scraps of Irresistible Designs DSP with Highland Heather brayered to colour it. The Greetings for All ephemera which has black and white sentiments which I coloured the white with my Highland Heather ink to tie it in.

Whimsical Wings & Things Wednesday

Welcome to another edition of Whimsical Wings & Things Wednesday where I play with my favourite Whimsical treasures from my stash.

Today’s card design was inspired by a couple challenges.

Try A Sketch On Tuesday #TSOT682 - fun circle sketch. I have flipped it from landscape to portrait.

Double Trouble Challenge Thing 1, 2 and 3. I used the TSOT sketch with round element, image or die cut, twine ribbon and Thing 3 incorporated a bird!

I’m playing with another Enchanted Hallow Fairy named ‘Capri’ and the retired Swirly Bird stamps and dies and the mini corrugated embossing folder from SU. I’ve added in current SU products with the Greetings for You ephemera, Traditional Sparkling Sequins and my Pecan Pie, Petal Pink, Cherry Cobbler, Soft Sea Foam and Granny Apple green blends to colour my fairy. Some Wink of Stella along the snowbanks and on her wings for that extra bling bling magic!

Love how the final design came together - a pretty holiday card for a fairy lover!
