Let's Snuggle!

Margaret here guest designing for the Scrapbook Nerds & Friends over on Facebook!

Today I am playing with a Slimline card design! The Pinkfresh Studio Essentials makes a great starter die for slimline cards!

I just love the larger work surface for designing with on the slimline card!

I again chose paper from the Winter Wonderland 6x6 paper pack from Doodlebug Design Inc! This paper stack is SO CUTE and great for winter birthdays and Valentines alike!

The little Bingo card paper is perfect for these little square accents! I chose the Let's Snuggle and Hot Cocoa weather squares and than the back side squares that spelled S N W that I wouldn't use!

I also love the Winter Wonderland Odds and Ends Snowflake from the Doodlebug Design Inc!

You get so many adorable little snowflakes and accent pieces in the package - amazing value!! I love that there is a mix of texture too from paper to acetate designs! The snowflakes added a perfect added pop to my squares!

Are you Yeti for Valentines?

Margaret here guest designing for the Scrapbook Nerds & Friends over on Facebook!

I chose my little Yeti from the Winter Wonderland 6x6 paper pack from Doodlebug Design Inc! One of the papers has a 'grid' like a Bingo card which is perfect for cutting up and using as focal points!

I made my collage behind by using the Winter Wonderland Odds & Ends from the Doodlebug Designs Inc.

I also added some accent hearts from the Winter Wonderland Shape Sprinkles Stickers from Doodlebug Design Inc.

Such and adorable Valentines card or for just because card this winter!

Love Never Melts

Margaret here guest designing for the Scrapbook Nerds & Friends over on Facebook with another offering in the Winter Wonderland Collection from Doodlebug Design Inc.

For my background I chose a retired embossing folder Happy Hearts from Stampin' Up! and Wink of Stella to give the background a subtle pop of glitter and shine.

I paired the embossed cardstock with a torn edge piece from the Winter Wonderland 6x6 paper pack from Doodlebug Design Inc! Such a versatile pack of paper to get you through the winter months!!!

Overall it came together into a cute little Valentine for a loved one!

Baby It's Cold Outside!

Margaret here guest designing for the Scrapbook Nerds for this week!

Back to show some more love of the Winter Wonderland Collection from Doodlebug Designs Inc.

This card makes use of the Winter Wonderland Sticker Icons - these are so stinking cute and you get SO MANY - perfect for making quick cards or scrapbook layouts!

The Winter Wonderland Chit Chat from Doodlebugs - again look at all the wording goodies for making both cards and scrapbook layouts!

And the Winter Wonderland 6x6 Paper pack - for a little pop of colour matting!

Seriously the little snowman are so stinking adorable .... to help ground them I sponged some light blue Pool Party ink snow hills - they are very subtle in the background.

Walking in the Winter Wonderland

Margaret here guest designing for the Scrapbook Nerds & Friends over on Facebook!

To get my inspiration started I used a #TGIFC299 card inspiration for this week - which is use a background!

For my background I chose a retired embossing folder Happy Hearts from Stampin' Up! and Wink of Stella to give the background a subtle pop of glitter and shine!

Just love Wink of Stella - subtle but stunning!

Than for my accent papers I chose the Winter Wonderland 6x6 paper pack from Doodlebug Design Inc! This paper stack is SO CUTE and great for winter birthdays and Valentines alike!

I punched out the heart from the paper with my Dual Hearts punch and created a banner with the triple banner punch from Stampin' Up!

For my sentiment I stamped the Love U from Altenew set called Hug Me.

I also added some accent hearts from the Winter Wonderland Icon Stickers from Doodlebug Design Inc. Like how adorable are these stickers??? I have some more plans in mind for upcoming cards with the adorable Winter Wonderland line!

February 💕 in the early learning program!

I love Valentine's Day - not the actually 'day' where it is all commercialized to be expected to buy expensive flowers or chocolates for your loved ones on a specific day -  I love the reminder that we should do loving things for each other each and every day because each day should be Valentine's Day!
I love the colors and hearts and just the fun that a celebration can mean for games and playing - like December reminds of of importance of engaging in Random Acts of Kindness if we start to slack in January than February comes to remind us again! So because I love Valentines I still share this cultural celebration with my crew even if a 'child led' program where most of our topics are led solely by their interests sometimes it is fun to share some of our own to keep traditions and cultural practices that we value as adults alive in our next generation.

These are some of the invitations the crew and I have been enjoying so far this February!

A collection of loose parts Valentine erasers with invitations for patterning and math literacy for those who need to a 'jump start' ... the children use these loose parts in a variety of ways from stacking and pattering without the use of aids, pretending they are cookies and role playing with them and an array of other imaginative ways ... this is the great thing about 'invitations' to play as the adult I can set out the invitation and the children are able to accept it as is if that is where they are at or they can move beyond the invitation with their own creativity! I find that when children join the group as infants and are exposed to loose parts from very small they do not really need the 'invitations' they just jump start creating their own games and play with loose parts however sometimes children who join us older feel a little lost with the loose parts so the jump start of an invitation helps them see how this bowl of 'stuff' can be potentially used and than as they watch others thing outside the invitation they grow their own imagination!

We have some fine motor fun with the lacing of the hearts!
Another math literacy game for the older friends at quiet time ... sometimes they use them to count and other times they flip the heart to the blank size and just make patterns to decorate them like cookies in play.

Quiet time games of tic tac toe are fun ... this is such a simple game with preschoolers to help them learn to take turns, follow directions and play a game with combined purpose.
And of course we love the Valentine inspired sensory bin ... the great thing about bins like this is they are fun for all ages - the children have been sorting pom poms, ripping the paper, twisting and making things with the pipe cleaners and role playing with the little Love Monsters hiding within the bin!
What are some of your favorite Valentine's activities to share with your crew during month of February?

Have an amazing day!

Love Inspired Stamp a Stack

Card showcase from yesterday’s Love inspired Stamp A Stack!

First card we made featured the Love you to pieces stamp set for the sentiment, the Detailed Hearts Die and the Stitched Be Mine Hearts dies
With this card we did a little stepped up fun with sponging the rainbow on the whisper white cardstock prior to die cutting in order to create the rainbow effect on the heart!

Our second card used the 'leftover pieces' from the first cards diie cut because well reduce, reuse recycle is our motto here ... paired with the Butterfly Wishes sentiment and the hearts punch pack from the current mini catty.
Our third card was a lovely clean and simple card design featuring the From My Heart DSP which pairs lovely with the Hearts Punch pack. Love the combo of the Flirty Flamingo with the Real Red and the pop of black! Did you know that you can create any coordinating color of rhinestone gems by coloring them with our Blends? So here we colored the rhinestones with the black blend to get the pop of black sparkle on the card!

Our fourth card was also a quick and simple card that features the floral image from January's Paper Pumpkin kit exclusive stamp set paired with the heart doilies and the stamp set from the From My Heart Bundle and the smaller punch from the Heart Pack punch.
And our final card design was inspired by the Crackle Paint stamp set and used the Dandelion Wishes sentiment as well as made use of the 'little hearts' from the Detailed hearts die from another project - yes I am a paper hoarder and tend to save everything for some future use!
I did use a little splash of glitter on this one - you can color the Sparkle Glimmer paper like the rhinestones by sponging with a coordinating ink - so this mint macaroon glimmer paper that is now retired can easily be recreated with a little bit of ink and a sponge!

Stamp a Stacks are a lot of fun and a great way for you to create a stash of cards for loved ones for upcoming occasions - these cards were Love themed for use for Valentines, Anniversary or Wedding or those Just Because occasions! Participants get to make 10 cards total 2 of each design!
