Ian the Elf arrived today with a message about empathy for those in our community who might not have access to the abundance that we do ~ unfortunately for the crew this week we have a tummy bug that has hit the crew that has a nasty hang time on the 'still contagious' factor in bodily fluids so instead of actually going to the store to choose where we might drool or sneeze and give a gift we did not intend to someone we made use of the grocery store flyers and cut out some photos to make a 'shopping list' and sent my other half who is not symptomatic to perform our Act of Kindness for us ... we here in home childcare are nothing if not resourceful to carry on with a curriculum plan and make the most of our circumstances!
Ian's 'No One Should be hungry' poem
Today Santa wasn’t laughing like a bowl full of jelly
He heard there are children in London without a full belly
He asked to see if you would help out
And I told him you’d gladly do it ~ without a doubt
To the grocery store we shall go and lickedy split
To buy some healthy food for our neighbors who need it!
No one should go hungry this holiday season
There is food a plenty so there is really no reason.
Oh Dasher, on dancer on Prancer and Vixen
There be meals around town that sure do need fixing!
The crew was really pretty awesome about choosing 'healthy things' to put on their grocery list ... we opted for a big peanut butter, a can of pumpkin, black beans, spaghetti and pasta sauce, soup and applesauce, pineapple, Mandarin oranges and pears.
Have an amazing day!
Margaret
